Tips on choosing your perfect lampshade
If you are replacing a lampshade then measure the bottom diameter of it and go for something with a similar diameter.
A quick tip that often works is the bottom diameter of the shade should be roughly the same as the height of the base (from the ground to the bulb holder).
Sometimes a thinner base might suit a smaller shade and thicker base a larger shade.
If your lamp is sitting close to a wall then you may want to consider an oval or square shade which will allow the lamp to sit closer to the wall.
If your lamp is positioned on a higher surface you may want to consider a larger shade as it will be deeper and you will see less of the lamp fitting.
